OMGs people! I got this grand-spankin' new idea from out of nowhere (and by "nowhere" I mean just swimming in my pool, not thinking about anything in particular, and all of a sudden, WHAM! The idea comes to me!), and I can't wait 'till I get it finished, if I ever do.

It's for what I believe is a fairly original game called "Soul-Shift". It's about this girl named Hikari (Hikari=Light) who is one of a few select people born with the gift called soul-shifting.

This is how soul-shifting works: When the soul and body of a soul-shifter (in this case, Hikari) are separated, the soul, unless restrained in a Spirit Bubble or anti-spirit cell, will search for a new body to inhabit. Here's the catch, though: It has to be artificial (i.e. a statue, doll, even a scarecrow will do), mainly because an outside soul can't inhabit a body that already has a soul (even dead bodies still have a remnant of a soul left). When the soul-shifter finds their artificial body, they have seven other chosen spirits (Oh, yeah, and these spirits are of people {same gender} who have been killed and have unfinished business in the world of the living {at least, I'm thinking of that being the case... the unfinished business, I mean}), that once they find them, the soul-shifter can take the form of the souls they possess and use their powers and abilities at will. When the soul-shifter finds their own body, dead or not, their soul automatically returns to their true body, leaving the other seven souls to either go on to the afterlife if their business was finished, or they remain on Earth if it was not.

The simple outline of the story is that Hikari, somehow having lost her memory (including her own name), has her soul pulled from her body by the Soul Reaper (one of the big allies of the evil emperor who wants to extract their powers and give them to his own army), and her soul escapes to find a stone statue of one of her chosen spirits: a warrior named Mirei who wields two katana (and is pretty dang good at using them, too!). Luckily for Hikari, Mirei's soul is sealed inside the statue, allowing her to fight her way to a village, where the people belive that she is Mirei returned to the living. She believes that for a while, until she soon discovers that she is not Mirei, and that she is a soul-shifter who must return to her own body. So she embarks on a quest, killing monsters, avoiding bad guys, finding the remaining six spirits, and basically kicking butt. At the end, she finds her true body, and if you completed all of the quests for finishing your spirits' business, they will all go to the afterlife.

Hikari's spirits include (in order; sadly I can't remember all of their names): Mirei, who fights with two katana and lightning magic, Rota, a kitsune who fights with fans and fire magic (fox fire), an elf woman who fights with martial arts, earth magic, and her pet wolf, a karasu tengu who wields a naginata and uses wind magic, a miko (priestess) who has a bow and arrow and light magic, a woman who fights with a scythe, broadsword, and dark magic, and a dragon who takes her dragon form to fight with physical attacks and fly, uses a bo staff in her humanoid form, and uses water magic in both forms.

If I ever finish, from watching E3 09, I think I've determined that I will send this (along with most of my other game ideas) to Sony (i.e. the Playstation people). I would send it to Nintendo, but If they used it, it would automatically go on the Wii or Nintendo DS, and I don't really want my games on either of those (the Nintendo DS is too small for what I want, like all other portable platforms, while I really have no idea why I don't want my ideas on the Wii... I just don't; besides-Sony has Okami, Spyro, .Hack//G.U., and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts!!! :3).
